Try Before You Buy
Because Textly provides a free 3-day evaluation trial across platforms, we strongly encourage all users to download the app and verify that its screen text capture, table extraction, and translation capabilities meet their expectations and workflow needs prior to purchasing a permanent license or subscription.
Purchased through the Mac App Store
If you purchased Textly (including the 6-month subscription or lifetime in-app purchase) through the Apple Mac App Store:
- Handled Exclusively by Apple: All billing, credit card transactions, invoices, and refund decisions for Mac App Store transactions are controlled entirely by Apple. MacThru cannot directly process, approve, or issue refunds for App Store purchases.
- Refund Eligibility: Refund requests are evaluated directly by Apple under Apple’s applicable terms, regional conditions, and statutory consumer protection laws.
- How to Request an App Store Refund:
- Visit Apple’s official problem reporting portal at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Sign in with the Apple Account used to make the purchase.
- Select "I'd like to..." and choose "Request a refund".
- Select the reason for your refund request and choose Textly from your purchased items list.
- Submit your request for Apple’s review. For further details, refer to Apple's official support article on app refunds.
- Subscription Cancellation vs. Refund: Canceling an active 6-month auto-renewable subscription stops future billing at the end of the current term, but does not automatically trigger a retroactive refund for the current or previous billing periods. A separate refund request must be submitted through Apple’s portal if desired.
Purchased through the MacThru Web Store
If you purchased a lifetime license for Textly directly through the MacThru Web Store:
- Merchant of Record: Web Store transactions are processed by Paddle, our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. All web order billing and refund terms are governed by Paddle’s Refund Policy.
- Standard Refund Terms: Because Textly is digital software delivered immediately upon purchase with an accompanying free trial, purchases are generally non-refundable unless required by applicable law or mandatory consumer statutory rights.
- 14-Day Discretionary Window: Paddle and MacThru may consider discretionary refund requests made within 14 days of the original transaction date, particularly if you experience persistent technical defects that our support team cannot resolve. Discretionary refund approval is not guaranteed.
- Mandatory Statutory Rights: Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory statutory cancellation or withdrawal rights you may have under local consumer protection laws (such as statutory cooling-off periods in the European Union or United Kingdom).
- Technical Support First: If you encounter an unexpected issue with registration key activation, table formatting, or OCR recognition, please reach out to MacThru Support first. Most issues can be resolved promptly.
- Submitting a Web Refund Request: You can submit a refund inquiry directly to Paddle Buyer Support at paddle.net or contact MacThru Support with your Paddle transaction ID.
After a Refund is Processed
Once a refund has been granted:
- Web Store Purchases: The associated registration code (
TXTLY-XXXXX...) is deactivated and revoked in the licensing server. Any active Mac devices running Textly under that key will revert to unregistered status and prompt for a valid license. - Mac App Store Purchases: Access to premium features is revoked in accordance with Apple StoreKit entitlement updates and transaction verification.
